Frequently asked questions

Who is GrowMindGrow for?

Children in preschool through grade 5, and the adults around them. The games are for the child; the progress tools are for parents and teachers.

Do I need an account to use the free tools?

No. The printable forms and the browser tools work with no account, no email address and nothing to install. That is deliberate — they are the parts that do not need an account to be useful, so they do not have one.

Only the games and a child's progress need you to be signed in, because they are about a specific child.

Can teachers print a class set?

Yes — a class, a year group or a whole school. There is nothing to buy, no licence to read and nothing to attribute. You can also put your school's name on any of the printable forms before you print them.

Do you sell my data, or my child's?

No. Our privacy policy states plainly that the information we collect about how people use the site is not used for advertising, and is not sold or rented to third parties for marketing purposes.

We do share information with the companies that run parts of the service for us — payment processing and email delivery, for example — and they are only permitted to use it to provide that service. The policy sets out the full list and your rights over your data, including under GDPR and PIPEDA.

How does the adaptive part actually work?

Each game is tied to specific skills. As a child plays, we look at their most recent rounds rather than their whole history — so a child who struggled early is not held back by it once they have improved.

A skill counts as mastered when every one of the last few rounds clears a high accuracy bar, not when the average does. An average lets one perfect round carry two poor ones, which is not mastery of anything.

What do you store about my child?

What is needed to show you their progress: the games they have played, how they did, and the skills those games cover. A child profile carries a name and a grade so the work can be pitched correctly.

Children do not see the skill map or their own position on it. It is a tool for the adult deciding what to do next, and showing a struggling eight-year-old the ladder they are partway up is not a kindness.

Is there a free trial?

The free tier is the trial, and it does not expire. Your child can play the core games for as long as you like without paying anything or entering a card.

Premium adds the rest of the game library and the progress view that reads it. You can start paying whenever it is worth it to you, or never.

How many children can I add?

Up to three on a family account. If you need more than that — a class, a club, a whole school — a school account is the right shape, and it is free.

How do I cancel a Premium subscription?

On the Billing Methods page in your account. Confirm with your password, and the subscription stops straight away — there is no form to fill in and nobody to email.

Your account stays open on the free tier. Every child keeps their profile and everything they have done. You are not charged again, and there is no refund for the part of the period already paid for.

What happens to our data if I close the account?

You can have the personal information deleted: your details, your child’s name, anything that identifies either of you.

We keep gameplay records in anonymised form — which games were played and how they went, with nothing attached that points back to a person. That is what tells us whether a game actually teaches what it claims, and it is no longer information about your child once the identity is gone.

Will it work on a school Chromebook?

The games and tools run in a normal web browser, so a managed Chromebook is usually fine. Some school networks block outside sites by default — if ours is blocked, your IT team will need to allow growmindgrow.com.

I have not received my confirmation email.

Check your spam or junk folder first — it is where most of them end up. If it still has not arrived, open the confirmation page and choose "Send a new code".

If that does not work either, email us and we will confirm the account by hand. Do not create a second account; it makes it harder to sort out.

How do I get in touch?

Email hello@growmindgrow.com. We are a small team, so it is a person reading it rather than a ticketing system.
