Personal plan
My frustrated plan
Something is not working the way I expected.
- Pause: The adult checks their own voice, face, and body before trying to help.
- Name: I may be feeling frustrated. Feelings are allowed; unsafe behavior is not.
- Regulate: Put both feet on the floor. Breathe comfortably and let each exhale last a little longer than the inhale.
- Connect: Choose a trusted adult at home and decide how to signal for help.
- Reason later: When my body is steadier, decide what I need, what can wait, and one safe next action.
Safety: If anyone may be hurt or cannot stay safe, get a trusted adult immediately and use local emergency or crisis support when needed.
Nothing selected here is saved or sent. Stop any strategy that makes the child more distressed or uncomfortable.
How to use it
- Name the signs that show up before your child boils over.
- Pick the strategies they will actually use, not the ones that sound good.
- Print it and agree it together while everyone is calm.
