Free CogAT® practice — Nonverbal battery

Try a short CogAT Nonverbal practice test

Eighteen questions across the three Nonverbal subtests — Figure Matrices, Paper Folding and Figure Classification. No reading, no signup, and a different test every time.

Level 8. Riverside's guidance picks the level from grade, time of year and how the class is performing — and says to use the higher level where two are offered and the test is for gifted identification. That is what this does.

This is a shortened test. It asks 18 questions. The real Nonverbal battery at Level 8 is 52 questions, and this original practice set is not normed. Its result describes only how many of these 18 practice questions were answered correctly.

How to use it

  1. Pick the grade and when in the year they will sit the real test.
  2. Work through eighteen questions — no reading needed, so young children can go alone.
  3. Read what they missed, with the rule behind each question explained.
